How to make your own Bible — and print it anywhere

People keep asking us two versions of the same question. A pastor preaching through Romans for a season asks whether there is a booklet of just Romans, in the translation the congregation actually uses. A study group asks for a New Testament with generous margins. A church running outreach wants a Gospel of John it can hand out by the box.

The honest answer used to be: not unless a publisher happens to have made exactly that. Now the answer is Tringine.

What it does

You make three choices:

1. The translation.
2. The scope — the whole Bible, a Testament, or any set of books down to a single one.
3. The trim size — the physical dimensions of the book you want to hold.

Tringine then typesets it and hands you four files: a print-ready PDF with correct trim, margins and bleed — the file a print shop or a print-on-demand service like Lulu accepts without questions — plus light and dark reading PDFs for screens, and an EPUB 3 for e-readers.

Tringine is the third publication engine we have built. The first produced our catalogue of parallel Bibles — over 4,200 editions. The second was an AI books engine, and we retired it: it taught us a great deal about typesetting at scale, and something more important about what we actually wanted to publish. Tringine is the Bible engine reinvented with what both predecessors taught us — and pointed at you this time, not just at us.

We do not run a press, and we never will. Ten years of publishing taught us that the hard part is not printing — the world is full of good print shops — it is producing the file a press will accept without sending it back. Margins, bleed, spine math, page flow through poetry and genealogies: that is the part Tringine does, because it is the same typesetting our own 4,200+ published editions go through.

What churches actually build with it

• A Gospel booklet for outreach — one book, small trim, printed by the hundred locally.
• A New Testament for a class — the translation the class reads, in a format that lies flat next to a notebook.
• The books of a preaching series — Romans this autumn, printed as its own volume, so everyone is holding the same pages.

The honest fine print

Tringine is newer than the rest of our estate and still in beta — priced accordingly, and the current terms live on its own site rather than in this post, so nothing here can go stale.

What it builds is for your own use — a congregation, a class, an outreach box. It does not come with an ISBN and it is not a licence to resell; the licensing page says exactly where the line is.
